How To Get An Agent

When I came to Los Angeles, I came from New York where I already had an agent and had been working for a few years. I came to Los Angeles for a week and stayed 30 years.  
Not everyone who arrives in Hollywood has an agent or manager – quite the contrary – most don’t have either an agent or manager.  So how does an actor get an agent?  It will be the easiest or the most difficult thing in the world – sometimes both at the same time. Read the rest of this entry »

Demo Reel II

We have discussed the concept of the Demo Reel previously, but let’s delve a little deeper.  In Hollywood most actors have a Demo Reel that they send in DVD format to casting directors, agents, managers, etc as a representation of what they look and behave like on camera.  It is an invaluable tool and every beginning actor should have one.  Whether it is a Disney Channel audition or a Speilberg Movie, actor’s Demo Reels are usually the first thing a casting director (or some Directors) see.
